TEDxMichiganAvenue: Bringing the Arts Back Home

Back in May, I made a trip to Chicago to deliver a TEDx talk organized by David Zoltan. I was only able to stay briefly, because my stepson Jake was graduating that same day from Illinois State University with a degree in acting, and I had to head back. So it is nice to have an opportunity to see the speeches I missed. Here is mine, called "Bringing the Arts Back Home."

Thanks, Uke. When I watch it, I think I am not as clear as I should have been.

I'm so glad you posted your lecture! I noticed you mentioned the Theatre in Wisconsin; Was that the same art foundation you had mentioned a while back who had creative means of spreading art to their community (i.e their own newspaper)?

No, the one with the newspaper was the Northern Lakes Center for the Arts in Amery WI. In my talk, I was speaking of Stage North in Washburn WI, which is a couple hours away on the shores of Lake Superior.

oOo, WI must have a lot more than the big cheese over there! (I'm interested in read in on them).

I really liked your restaurant analogy; When I was in France I went to a show I barely understood (didn't have much under my belt at the time), but the acting was so good I was able to follow along quite well.-Great example of what you had taught us in class.- Anyways, It was great! I loved getting a taste of different area's art. -A new tradition to be upheld! :)

Think Again: Funding and Budgets in the Arts

Every once in a while, I think I'll post a link or two to posts written earlier in the life of Theatre Ideas that seem worth revisiting ...
